一、研究院介绍

南京大学功能材料与智能制造研究院成立于2022年6月,位于南京大学苏州校区,是南京大学首批建设的新型研究院之一。紧密依托南京大学现代工程与应用科学学院及固体微结构物理国家重点实验室,研究院以“新工科”发展趋势和需求为引领,积极推动南京大学“双一流”建设学科“材料科学与工程”的发展。

研究院旨在构建国际一流的新型工科集成创新平台和高水平工程人才培养基地。主要研究领域包括功能材料与器件、功能感知与系统应用、智能制造与极限制造等前沿方向。通过深入探索这些研究领域,研究院致力于在功能材料和智能制造领域取得卓越成果,为推动新工科的发展贡献力量,同时也为培养下一代全面型工程领域人才提供坚实支撑。

 

二、招聘岗位设置

南京大学功能材料与智能制造研究院拟面向全球招聘有志于从事材料科学与工程领域各主要研究方向的优秀青年人才到研究院工作。本次拟招聘岗位包括准聘助理教授、准聘副教授若干,以准聘助理教授为主;特别优秀的高层次人才岗位另议。招聘研究方向主要为:

1. 超材料及声学工程

2. 自旋电子材料及器件工程

 

三、申请条件

1. 遵守中华人民共和国法律和法规,热爱教学科研事业;

2. 具有良好的师德师风,恪守学术道德,勤勉工作,无犯罪记录,无违反师德师风和学术道德惩处记录;

3. 一流的学术背景:具有自然科学或工程技术学科相关领域的博士学位,具有一流教学科研机构的学习、工作经验,掌握相关领域国际前沿的研究动态,准聘助理教授要求博士毕业后从事学术研究两年以上,准聘副教授要求博士毕业后从事学术研究四年以上;

4. 出色的教学能力:应具有能够胜任本学科核心基础课程和前沿课程的教学能力,掌握良好的教学方法,具有较强的语言表达能力;

5. 突出的科研成果显示度与未来科研发展潜力:应有相关研究方向的成果显示度,对相关研究领域有创新性观点,未来研究计划思路清晰,具有较好的学术潜力。

Tenure-Track Faculty Positions

The School of Materials Science and Intelligent Engineering

I. The School of Materials Science and Intelligent Engineering

Establishment of the School of Materials Science and Intelligent Engineering at Nanjing University started in June 2022. Located at the Suzhou campus, it is one of the first established research institutes by Nanjing University. Closely affiliated with the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) and the National Laboratory of Solid State Microstructures at Nanjing University, the School development aligns with the trends and demands in  strengthening  "New Engineering" . School closely works with and actively supports the "Materials Science and Engineering" discipline of CEAS, which is a "Double First-Class" construction program of Nanjing University.

Our School aims to build and become an internationally renowned innovative platform for “new engineering” research and development. In the meanwhile, it is keens to also become a high-level talent cultivation base. The school promotes research in the general areas of functional materials and devices, functional perception and system applications, intelligent manufacturing, and extreme manufacturing. Our school is committed to supporting independent as well as collaborative in functional materials and intelligent manufacturing. The school is expected to make continuous contribution to the advancement of the "New Engineering" field, and to provide solid support for nurturing next generation talents in science and  engineering .

 

II. The Positions

The School of Materials Science and Intelligent Engineering at Nanjing University invites applications for multiple faculty openings. Current positions are available at the tenure-track Assistant and Associate Professor levels. For qualified candidates, positions at higher levels will be considered. We welcome applications in the general area of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and encourage candidates working in these fields to apply for the following specializations:

1. Meta Materials and Acoustic Engineering

2. Spintronics and spintronic device Engineering

 

III. Conditions for Application

1. Abide by the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China and demonstrate enthusiasm in teaching and research.

2. Abide by academic ethics, have no criminal history, and possess no record of violating teacher morality and professional ethics.

3. Possession of a doctorate degree in related disciplines and proof of research successes in the frontiers and understanding of trends in related science and technology fields are required. The applicant for Assistant Professor should have engaged in academic research for more than two years after receiving the doctoral degree, while the applicant for Associate Professor should have engaged in academic research for more than four years after receiving the doctoral degree.

4. Excellent teaching capabilities: be able to teach core materials and manufacturing curriculum as well as developing cutting-edge new courses; can conduct appropriate teaching practices and be fluent in self-expression and communication.

5. Demonstrated scientific research achievements and a comprehensive future development plan: visible accomplishments in the relevant research area with shown originality, creativity, and capability; be able to develop externally sponsored research programs, mentor graduate students, collaborate with other faculty, and be active in service to the institute, discipline, university, and profession.

 

IV. Supporting Materials for Application

3. An introduction of your research results and their innovative significance.

4. A plan for research and its prospects.

5. Three reference letters (referees including the PhD supervisor and postdoctoral supervisor).
